In short: your files are processed in your own browser and are never uploaded to us, and we don’t ask for an account. The site is free because it shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve and measure those ads, and you can choose personalized or non-personalized ads.
1. Your files
Every PDF Karigar tool — including the PDF Editor — runs inside your web browser on your own device. The files you choose are read and processed there and are not sent to our servers, so we cannot see, store or share them. When you close or leave the page, your browser discards them.
Passwords you type into Protect PDF or Unlock PDF are used only on your device to encrypt or open the file. They are never sent or stored.
2. Information we don’t collect
You don’t need an account, so we don’t collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or payment details while you use the tools.
3. What is stored on your device
PDF Karigar itself stores one setting in your browser’s local storage: whether you chose the light or dark theme (pk-theme). Signatures you create in the editor are kept only while the page is open. PDF Karigar’s own code does not set cookies.
Our advertising partner Google sets cookies and similar technologies on this site, as described in section 4. You can remove all of them at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies and site data.
4. Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which keeps PDF Karigar free. Ads never have access to your files: they run separately from the tools, and your documents stay on your device.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Google and its partners may also use cookies, device identifiers and your IP address to measure ad performance, limit how often you see an ad, and detect fraud and abuse.
- Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and How Google uses cookies in advertising.
Your choices
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings. If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google’s consent message, which follows the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework, before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with the privacy link the message leaves on the page.
- Visitors in US states with privacy laws (such as California) can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for advertising through the same Google message.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools keep working either way.
5. Other services that load parts of the site
Like any website, a few services are contacted when you visit. They receive normal technical information that browsers send with every request — such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request — but never your files.
- Our hosting provider delivers the website and protects it against abuse, and may keep short-term server logs.
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) provides the typefaces used on the site and the fonts you pick in the PDF Editor. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) supplies font files when you add a Google font to text in the PDF Editor. See the jsDelivr Privacy Policy.
6. When you email us
If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you, we never sell or share it, and we delete it when it’s no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
7. Children
PDF Karigar is a general-purpose tool and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children, and we don’t ask Google to serve personalized ads to them.
8. Changes to this policy
If the way the site works changes — for example if we add analytics — we will update this policy before the change goes live and change the date at the top of this page.
